Project Summary

In the EIDOPC partners' intention, this project will contribute to the reform of content, teaching methodologies and the structure of the university studies covered by the University "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, in accordance with the Bologna Declaration, due to the following two EIDOPC specific objectives:

(i) To develop and accredited a new, up-to-date, two-years postgraduate curriculum in Ecosystem Informatics at the University “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, based on the European Credit Transfer System and in accordance with the Bologna Declaration, aimed to establish a European Higher Education Area.

(ii) To fulfil the conditions necessary for offering a Master Degree Title in Ecosystem informatics which is to be implemented jointly on the basis of an agreement between the University "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

1. The EIDOPC project objectives are within the priorities defined for the Partner Country about the curriculum development, more specifically about implementing study of applied sciences and technologies.

2. The EIDOPC project will cover areas relevant for the economic and social transition process of the Partner Country and its closer association to the European Union.

3. The EIDOPC project corresponds to the needs and interest of the following Partner Country EIDOPC participants: the Ministry of Education and Science and the one University included in the project.

4. The EIDOPC Consortium consists of five Faculties from five Universities: four EU Universities (from Greece, Slovenia, Germany and Spain), and one University from the Partner Country.

5. Since Environmental and Resources issues always have significant regional aspects the EIDOPC project partnership includes representatives from the partner Country neighbours Bulgaria and Greece.

6. The EIDOPC project will establish an innovative Ecosystem Informatics Curriculum that meets the main goals defined in the Bologna Declaration.

7. Online Learning Courses will be established allowing new learning environments, as well as methods and procedures for more efficient educational process, better suited to the students' needs.

8. During the design phase of the new Curriculum priority will be given to the so-called "blended" education concept, that is, a combination of both classical educational methods through the direct contact between the teacher and the student and the Distance Online Learning methodology.

9. Quality Control and Monitoring of the EIDOPC project will be performed by one external assessor and the EIDOPC Management Board.

10. Dissemination will be achieved through the EIDOPC project web-site, informative sessions in each project year, and peer reviews in order
to inform the academic community and the non-consortium policy- makers about the EIDOPC project progress, as well as the quality control of the project results..

12. The sustainability of the newly designed Curriculum will be achieved through the establishement of adequate financial and institutional coverage.

13. EIDOPC project will ensure establishment of measurement equipment, Computer equipment, software, sensor equipment, audio-visual equipment and server equipment.
